Angels with Attitude:

Inspirations - Things that spark the soul...

Stacy creates figures that are primarily feminine in nature, but often with a strong infusion of masculine energy. She creates pieces that reflect more than just the women's experience, but the experiences shared by all. Although many of her pieces are expressions of personal experiences and challenges, she will happily draw inspiration from both classical and contemporary mythologies.

In keeping with the style of American folk art traditions, she uses an odd mix of found, recycled, and new items (although only natural materials will do), most commonly working in wood, metal and stone. She can often be found wandering up and down the beaches of the North Shore, sometime in search of inspiration, but more often just looking for the right piece of glass, shell or driftwood.

Hooks & Hangers
while reflecting on personal thoughts...

Fascinated by ideas of transformation and evolution, Stacy continues to develop her art in an admittedly unorthodox manner. Self-taught in design, sculpture and woodcarving, she will often find objects, either natural or man-made and see the personality hidden within. It then becomes her mission, to release that personality and expose it to the world.

Storm Chasers

The end of October of 2012 brought about some surprises far greater than the usual Halloween mischief to the greater part of the Northeastern U.S.. Hurricane Sandy brought a level of destruction not often seen in these parts and reminded us all how powerful the forces of Nature can be. In the aftermath, however, I was struck by the shapes of the broken and twisted trees stranded in my yard, my neighborhood, and for miles beyond. The shapes were evocative of not just the chaos that had been visited upon us, but the beauty and whimsy that sometimes accompanies such destruction - often going unnoticed and unremarked in the rush to recover. Out of this chaos of beauty and whimsy were born the four newest characters in the Angels line: “Sweet Dreams,” “Blue Skies,” “Silver Linings”, and “Dancing Wings”.

A mother of four, (one delightful son, Maxwell; a two year old, energetic pug, Dutch; an overly pampered pug, Sophie; and the newest addition to the clan, Mushka, a charming but excitable malti-poo,) and married to her ever patient and supportive husband, Michael; Stacy remains an adamant "computerphobe", happy to release her visions and engaging personalities out into the world with energy, emotion, and honesty.
